Level Graphics

In order for us to apply graphics to our game we decided to create the level structure using out initial designs in Dame and then use an image of this to develop the level graphics in relation to this to get a better sense of the overall look and feel of the game. In doing it this way it also provided us with the opportunity to use Dame to place the images separately, and use standard invisible blocks as the actual collision detection so that elements such as repeatable graphics would not be required making the design development easier.  Out of this process we then ended up with the following:
Original Dame level block layout

Overlay designs based on block layout
This incorporates a number of key graphics for our game. This includes the spiritual and physical world blocks, the checkpoints, the safe blocks, and also our initial level instructions. This provides us with a starting point for beginning to merge the development and design together to create a complete game.
