Further Development

Since the last post we have continued developing the game to incorporate all the elements we have devised and also the graphics that we have created so far.  The following is an example of the game in its current state:

As you can see we have begun adding in theme of the game in terms of graphics and have also further developed the more functional aspects of it. To play use SHIFT as the switch key as this has been changed for processing reasons since the last posted version. Other newly incorporated elements in this version include:

  • no falling off of game edges
  • fall = death functionality with matching camera control
  • closer collisions between character and platforms = no floating characters
  • continued object of enlightenment tweaking
  • character animation tweaking
  • shake effect in spiritual world - only temporary as a visual reference to the current state, this will be changed
  • spirit world timer ramping - player cannot interchange quickly between worlds just to reset their time, need to wait for 'recharge'
  • vertical wall/door collisions
  • parchment graphics
