Completion

After a solid week of work programming, designing and being in creative in general we have finally come to the completion of our current game of Parchment.  Parchment is a vertical platformer which follows Um, a shaolin monk on his journey to reach enlightenment. To progress Um must take risks by venturing into the spirit world. This game tackles the brief of Morph through its main gameplay mechanic of transforming the environment between the physical and spiritual worlds.  To learn more about Parchment, feel free to visit and play the game here:

In the future there are a number of things we would like to add and change in the game.  The major one of these is to develop the story further to follow Um through his battle with the five temptations in order for him to reach enlightenment.  Obviously as well as this game story and level development there are also more technical and design based aspects we would like to improve on.  The first of these is the preloader, as seen when you use the link above.  We have had to resort to the default Flixel preloader at this time due to time constraints which works fine, but does ultimately withdraw from the overall effect.  As well as this there are many other graphical aspects we could include such as other background elements, including moving sprites such as clouds.  Re-creation of sound is also important to us so that every element of the game becomes our own. There are also other gameplay elements to consider including moving platforms and bouncing platforms.  We would also like to include some more interesting visual effects such as the drawing effect previously mentioned in the design document which we did not have a enough time to develop for this version.
Although there is a lot that could still be further developed overall we are very happy with the game we have created and feel that we have done our best to achieve a fully functional well rounded result that many people will find fun to play.
